...have apparently been admonished by the police and local media commentators that they "should have ignored the groping" (the thugs reportedly groped one of the soldiers' wives) and simply left.

Wednesday night, it sounded as if it had just happened and the police were releasing a video of the beating with closeups of the suspects in an effort to apprehend them ASAP. Last night, the report said more clearly that this occurred the night of July 31. Three weeks ago! And it's just becoming "newsworthy"?
